Industry Spotlight - Transport

Continuing on with our spotlighting theme of different industries that we stock, this week we take a look at transport.

We do cater to rail workers as well and last week we focused on Highway workers.

So, we thought we’d take a broader approach this week with the transport industry workwear.

The transport industry has a global reach and includes everything from bikes to trains. So we’re not going to be talking about one specific transport industry, but rather show you what products we have that may appeal or be required for you to wear at your job.

Headwear

As with most industries, having a good hard hat or helmet can go a long way in protecting your head from any dangerous environments you may be forced to work in.

Goggles and ear defenders may also be required for your job in transport as aircrafts and some trains can be extremely loud so it’s best to be protected.

Bodywear

Workwear such as a high-viz jacket can help you be seen by other workers and not only that drivers and pilots when you’re on the job.

We’ll talk more about rail workers next week, but if you’re working on a rail track, first of all the track should be closed so that on-coming trains won’t go down that track. But in any case, they do, they’ll be able to spot the workers due to the high-viz workwear.

Wearing base layers and body warmers is also highly advised, especially in the colder months such as Winter where the weather conditions can be all the harsher.

Legwear

Similar to bodywear, high-viz trousers would be advised for numerous industries within the transport sector. This is so you have full visibility day or night when working on the job.

And as with bodywear, base layers for legwear will help keep you warm in the colder months as well as keeping you comfortable without any restrictions in movement so you can carry out your job being warm, comfortable and full-motion to do the job at hand.

Footwear

Work boots are advised as they are high-quality and durable. Trainers or wellington boots are probably not a good option here as they’re not meant for workwear and day-to-day on-the-job tasks.

Thermal socks are a good option here as well for added comfort and heat.
