Industry Spotlight - Police And Security

Following on from our series of blog posts where we look at the different industries we cater to and provide workwear for, this week we’ll be looking at police and security workwear.

Whilst most of these items on this list are accessories, especially for police officers, some of the workwear included on this list may benefit when “on the beat” or working a nightclub door.

Headwear

Unlike previous industries we’ve looked at on this list, headwear is seemingly optional. Hats and caps can be worn to give warmth, especially in the colder months and a head torch may come in handy for certain situations, but otherwise, headwear is usually optional.

Bodywear

Focusing more on security guards, base layers, thermals and hi-viz clothing is what is recommended here.

Especially if you’re a lone worker or working in the early hours of the morning, staying warm while on shift and being visible is your number one priority.

Knee pads may be a good option to wear for added protection when kneeling down frequently.

Footwear

Comfortable footwear should be a high priority as both police officers and security guards are constantly on their feet and relying on the footwear when in pursuit or having to stand for long periods of time.
