Hardstaff Barriers & Granite Workwear Have Teamed Up For A Sustainable Future

We are proud to announce that we’ve teamed up with Hardstaff Barriers whom we supply PPE for, and they’ve come on board as our first recycling and sustainable partner.

In this article, we’ll talk about what that means and hear from both representatives from Hardstaff Barrier and Granite Workwear.

Protecting Workers And The Environment

Towards the end of last year, we introduced our Destruction and Recycling policy which means that, when your old workwear which you’ve purchased from us reaches its end of life, instead of just throwing it away, we ask you to return this back to us.

This is so that we can dispose of your old workwear in a safe and controlled manner. This is a completely free service which we provide and enables us to be more environmentally conscious with the workwear we provide.

Rather than this ending up in landfills, once the item is sent back to us, we have greater control of how we destroy our old and used workwear. This process generally tends to be recycled in order for it to be used time and time again.

For more information about the process, visit our recycling policy page here.

Taking Sustainability Seriously, Together

Kathryn Cooper, the Service Manager at Hardstaff Barriers had this to say about their new partnership:

“We are delighted that we can not only protect our workforce and customers through the use of quality PPE, but we can rest assured that we are not damaging the environment when the workwear is no longer fit for use.

We’re really pleased to be teaming up with Granite Workwear to ensure that the whole process is safe, considered and environmentally friendly from start to finish.”

Our very own Simon Towle, Director at Granite Workwear said:

“We started the service as we take sustainability and the environment very seriously.

As far as we know, we are also the first company to offer complete recycling and re-tasking of all workwear and PPE products that have been purchased from us, ensuring a full circular economy and not just a recycling economy.”
