Fristads Green Range – Workwear That Cares For The Environment

If there is something that excites us here at Granite Workwear, it’s greener, more sustainable workwear solutions. So, you can only imagine our excitement when we heard about the new Fristads Green Range.

This innovative range not only greatly reduces its environmental impact, but it the world’s first workwear collection to be acknowledged an EPD!

Don’t worry if you’re not familiar with all the workwear jargon, as we will be fleshing out all the good stuff and more importantly give you a sneak peek of what this new range has to offer.

What’s An EPD?

So, you’ve heard us touch upon the fact that this range is the first-ever workwear collection to be given and EPD, but you’re probably wondering what it is exactly.

EPD also referred to as an Environmental Product Declaration, is a measuring standard which shows a product’s accumulated environmental impact through its complete lifecycle.

Although EPD’s are currently used in other product sectors, Fristads is the world, first clothing manufacturer, to implement it.

New Fristads Green Range

We know Fristads is renowned for combining their innovative design with industry know-how, but their new Green Range is a step towards revolutionising the production of workwear as we know it.

Each garment in the new collection has been designed and manufactured in a way to help reduce waste, energy consumption and utilise more sustainable materials such as recycled polyester and undyed cotton. All garments are also OEKO-TEX ® certified.

Here are some of the best bits: 

• The recycled polyester is dyed using the E.DYE ® process, which reduced water consumption by 75%.

• Buttons are made from a raw finished metal alloy, and most of the zippers and all details are made from recycled polyester.

• Each garment uses advance folding techniques to reduce sewing time and avoids unnecessary waste.
  

• Any surplus material from producing the Fristads Green range is utilised on-site and turned into ‘comfort pads’ for elbows and knees!
